Why this site exists

Buying an intimate wellness product means looking for answers to questions you ask no one. Is it loud. Is the material safe. Is it really worth $200. Is there a better version out there.

Before chuchote, those answers belonged to the sellers. Shops have excellent catalogues, but their job is to sell what they have in stock. No one, in Quebec or anywhere in Canada, was doing the work on the side: comparing products against one another, based on verifiable facts, with nothing to sell.

That’s the work we do. We whisper what sellers won’t tell you.

Why « chuchote »

Because it’s exactly the right volume. Not the awkward silence that still surrounds these products, not the marketing shout that promises fireworks. A low voice that says the true things: the strengths, the limits, and the moment a newer version changes everything.

Who we are

chuchote is an independent Quebec publication, edited from the Montréal area by a small team with a background in online research and data analysis. Our work has two layers. First, the information: extracting official manufacturer specifications, structuring them, comparing them, and keeping them up to date. Then, the testing: our team physically tests the flagship products in each category following a standardized, published protocol. Sound level measured in decibels, battery life timed, weight and dimensions verified, waterproofing checked against the stated rating, original photos to back it up.

Listings carrying the « Tested by chuchote » badge contain our own measurements. The others rely on official manufacturer specifications, and every listing states clearly which category it falls into. This distinction is what makes the badge mean something. We chose to put the brand forward rather than faces, because the discretion we promise our readers, we apply to ourselves too. What commits us isn’t a signature: it’s a method, published, verifiable on every listing.

How we make our living

The site may be paid through affiliate commissions when you buy from a merchant via our links, and through clearly identified sponsored content. Two rules keep this model compatible with our work: no payment ever influences a ranking or a listing, and our editorial policy remains the current, complete picture of how we’re funded: /en/editorial-policy/

When a better alternative pays less, it’s still the one we recommend.

What we refuse

• Listings ordered or reviewed by a brand
• Invented specifications and statistics with no source
• Medical content: for your health, consult a professional
• A tone that judges, sneers, or promises miracles

Our commitments to you
