Where our data comes from

Our listings draw on the official pages of the manufacturers we cover, notably LELO, We-Vibe, Womanizer, Satisfyer, Lovense and Fun Factory. We extract the published specifications: materials, water resistance, battery life, connectivity and dimensions when they are provided.

What this means in practice:

• If a manufacturer does not publish a product’s battery life, our listing does not show a battery life. We do not estimate, and we do not copy a figure found on a retailer’s site.
• Displayed prices come from sellers and are updated regularly. A price may have changed between two updates; the price that counts is always the seller’s price at the time of purchase.
• Aggregate ratings, when we display them, come from identified public platforms and we indicate their source.

Our physical tests

The flagship products in each category go through our standardized testing protocol, carried out by our team on products we purchase (any exception is disclosed on the listing concerned):

• Sound level: measured in decibels at 30 cm and at 1 metre, at minimum and maximum intensity, in a room with controlled background noise, with the product held in a bare hand. We also test a simple question: is the product audible through a closed door at maximum intensity.
• Physical conformity: weight and dimensions measured and compared with the stated figures. A difference greater than 5% is noted on the listing.
• Power: full charge time and battery life at medium intensity, both timed. A difference greater than 15% from the stated figure is noted.
• Water resistance: checked to the IPX rating declared by the manufacturer, never beyond it.
• Handling: controls, travel lock, pairing and app requirements, documented factually.
• Original photos on a neutral background, kept with their metadata.

Tested listings carry the “Tested by chuchote” badge and present our measurements alongside the manufacturer specifications, with each value identifying its source. The limitations of this protocol are acknowledged: these are standardized, reproducible in-house measurements, not those of a certified laboratory. They answer the questions that manufacturer listings leave unanswered, starting with real-world noise.

How we evaluate

Our evaluation compares the verifiable specifications across products in the same category. We do not rate sensations, which vary from one person to another. We document what can be compared objectively: materials, water resistance, connectivity, stated or measured battery life, warranty and the availability of replacement parts.

The limitations section of each listing is non-negotiable. A first-generation product whose successor exists says so clearly. A product designed for a specific use states what it is not designed for.

What we refuse

• No paid placement in our rankings. A manufacturer or retailer cannot buy a position.
• No listing commissioned or reviewed by a brand.
• No statistic without a verifiable source.
• No medical content. For any health question, consult a healthcare professional.
